For research into the origins of human morphology and behavior
Work at the AIM is aimed at understanding the evolutionary origins of human morphology and behavior. For both research areas we follow a dual approach. The first is to identify the unique features of humans and reconstruct their evolutionary history. The second is to develop explanations for these novel features based on broad biological principles that emerge from studies of living and fossil primates and other animals.
Die Erforschung der Herkunft der Morphologie und des Verhaltens des Menschen
Das Ziel der Forschung am AIM ist das Verständnis der evolutionären Herkunft der menschlichen Morphologie und seines Verhaltens. Für diese Forschungsbereiche verfolgen wir einen dualen Ansatz.
Der erste Ansatz ist die Identifizierung der einzigartigen Merkmale sowie die Rekonstruktion der evolutionären Geschichte des Menschen.
Der zweite Ansatz ist Erklärungen für das Entstehen dieser einzigartigen Merkmale auf Grund von allgemeingültigen biologischen Gesetzmässigkeiten zu finden.
