Coop - Peer - Action

We are a peer monitoring group composed by young female scientists who all work on some aspect of the evolution of cooperation, and who realized that they could strongly profit from a tighter interconnection with others working on the same topic - not only with established professionals, but also with peers conducting their research on the same topic and in the same university but hitherto without much exchange. Action, finally, reflects the awareness that it is not sufficient to discuss these issues within a small circle, and that we actually would like to change this situation. Our peer monitoring group is funded by the Peer Mentoring program of the University of Zurich.

Our aims:

  1. Building an internal network of women scientists at the University of Zurich with an interest in the evolution of social behavior and cooperation, and using peer support to develop skills that are necessary to pursue a scientific career, assisted by advanced scientists from our field.

  2. Building and maintaining an external scientific network of young and established zoologists working on the evolution of cooperation, predominantly in Switzerland, and whenever possible internationally.

  3. Individualized career counseling in a group setting, mediated by a professional coach who is an expert on peer group coaching in science.
