Endocranial and brain morphology in evolutionary and developmental context

Research interests

I am interested in the evolution of the human brain as well as in neuroimaging and computational techniques that allow us understand the place of our species’ brain in nature. In particular, my current research focuses on image analysis methods for quantifying the brain-endocast relationship in humans and great apes in evolutionary and developmental contexts. The outcome of this analysis will provide the means to establish brain-endocast mapping functions useful for inferring brain morphology and structure from fossil hominin endocasts, a central problem in palaeoanthropology.
