To request access to the items held in the collection, researchers are asked to complete an application form. The application will be considered and a response will be given within the time periods described below.
When access is granted, a Guest Access Card will be given to the researcher, which can be used to access the rooms where the collection items are stored. The Guest may keep this card for the duration of their research stay. To open the compactors where the specimens are stored, unique keys are required. Guests will need to obtain these keys from the curator at the beginning of each day (no earlier than 9:00 am, Monday-Friday) and return them before the end of the day (no later than 17:00).
The opening hours of the collection are 9:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday; researchers will need to conduct their research during these times. The collection is closed on the weekends and during holidays. Requests for special access outside of these hours may be considered, but will only be granted for particularly extenuating circumstances.
For questions regarding access to the collection, please send an email with the information below to the curator (Dr. Colin Shaw) at: collection@aim.uzh.ch.
