Ivan Lenzi

I am interested in the study of natural populations using modern genetic tools. In my thesis I will compare social structure and mating systems of orang-utans by integrating molecular, long-term behavioural, and spatial data from one Sumtran and two Bornean sites. My thesis work will enable us to elucidate various aspects of orangutan's social life and will aid in the identification of factors that have led to different social dynamics between Sumatran and Bornean orang-utans.
